A simple and fun game where students have to guess who the Alien is by working out the emotions and feelings of the other characters in the game. Students work around the room filling in the emotions and feelings of each of the other characters on their worksheet and then use those to work out who the alien is.

Here is an amazing 3-4 Lesson activity that can be done with Y5, Y6 or Y7 age learners. Learners need to be able to use language to market and sell their own luxury food item. They will work in teams, with assigned roles to pitch their product, look at costs and then advertise the product. They will need to use a variety of DAFOREST features which is recapped in the lesson. This has been extremely successful when done with KS2 and KS3 learners and can be a brilliant way to get your class using and enhancing their reading and writing skills, as well as speaking and listening skills when doing the pitch. All of the materials and worksheets are also included for easy use.

Students can learn how to make a Sandwich, looking at key words such as ingredients, recipe and instructions. They can also familiarise themselves with food vocabulary and actually make a sandwich! There is also a video and worksheet activity for them to complete when making their sandwich. Ideal for KS1 , low level learners or ESL/EAL learners.

Here is a Bucket list lesson for KS2/KS3/EAL/ESL learners. The lesson includes a detailed description of a bucket list, a video explaining what a bucket list is and a double-sided handout available. Here is a great full lesson analysing the poem “The Soldier” by Rupert Brooke. This is ideal for students in KS3, years 7,8,9 . This lesson will help students to explore and understand the themes in the poem, including conflict. The lesson goes through the poem line by line in detail, looking at and discussing the key themes, poetic devices used as a well as a range of discussion and/or writing activities. This can also be differentiated as required for lower levels by simply removing/simplifying some of the extended activities.

This is a great lesson for KS1/KS2 learners as well as EAL/ESL learners. This is also a useful lesson to help students revise adjectives, superlatives and comparatives. This is a full half-term scheme of work focused on Gothic Writing. The scheme covers a wide range of texts and extracts. There is a wide range of activities to help learners develop their reading and writing skills. All lessons include developed learning objectives, with key word Foci and a main task in each lesson. This scheme will cover 10-12 full lessons, for 45-60 minutes depending on the ability of learners. Full lesson on personality with 4 personality tests Here is a great fun lesson for KS1/KS2 and ESL learners all about personality. Students can learn the different personality words and adjectives for description, complete a quiz/game and then write down the answers for each of the 4 personality tests. They can then get the results of each test to find out the true meaning of each test! This is a lot of fun and has gone done well with many different student groups. This Scheme includes 8-10 Lessons on Romeo and Juliet, looking at a range of themes within the play, and breaking down the play scene by scene, while also comparing both the modern and traditional versions of the play. There are also lessons helping to revise key quotes and key scenes, as well as character timelines, plot activities and differentiated worksheets/cheat sheets to help learners, which can be adapted depending on the ability of your classes. These lessons are ideal for KS3 and KS4 for comprehension, first teach and revision purposes and can be adapted as needed.

This lesson is called Amazing Animals, with lots of discussion, vocabulary and activities for students to complete. The lesson can be broken down over an hour, or easily extended into two lessons: Warm Up - The teacher can ask students the question prompts about animals to generate ideas and understanding (10-15 mins). Traits - Goes into detail about traits of animals and why these are useful for their survival. (5-10 mins). This is a scheme centred on Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. This has been used with Mid-High ability KS3 and lower to mid KS4 students and covers a wide range of themes in each of the chapters of the story. Each lesson contains developed learning objectives and key word foci, as well as a starter activity. Periodical homework tasks, assessment tasks and exam style questions are included. You can either teach this with or without the text, but I have taught this alongside the text, which means this scheme can last between 6-10 1 hour lessons. Lessons can also be easily differentiated if needed and assessment / exam style tasks can be easily changed if needed. This scheme works best with KS3 (Year 8-9) learners and lower level KS4 (Year 10) students. There are no other resources needed than each of the detailed lessons. Enjoy!

Here is a fantastic 8-10 lesson scheme on Unseen Poetry covering a wide range of poems for KS4 (Year 10/11) from the Unseen Poetry spec. The scheme covers the main themes in each of the poems: Poppies, Remains, Checking Out my History and War Photographer, and has a range of tasks in them to link to each other, looking at key language and phrases in the poem. Students are encouraged to look in detail at certain phrases in each of the poems and the significance of the themes of power and conflict throughout the scheme. Here is a full 7-10 Lesson Scheme of Work for Oliver Twist for use mainly at KS2/KS3 (Years 5-9). The scheme covers a wide range of themes and ideas within the story and the extracts or the full novel can be used to help accompany this scheme. There are also differentiated outcomes for each lesson, as well as a range of activities and questions for each lesson to ensure all learners are making progress. There is also a range of reflection activities and homework activities for students to complete throughout the scheme, which will take up at least 7-10 full lessons.

Here is a full 8 Lesson scheme of work on Myths and Legends, including a range of worksheets and extracts which are also differentiated for all learners. This has previously been taught to Year 6 and Year 7 learners and features a wide range of activities for learners to complete, as well as group tasks looking at different myths and legends from around the world. There are also a range of extracts attached as well as a large amount of writing tasks to help test for comprehension of each myth as well as assessment criteria.

Here is a full 2-3 lesson pack for Conflict Poetry, looking in detail at Belfast Confetti, by Ciaran Carson. This lesson looks at language and context and how they work together in the poem. Copies of the poem, comparison activities, handouts, vocabulary focus and writing activities are also included. There is also handouts with containing a comparison with Bayonet Charge, social and historical context of the poem as well as a look at tone and structure in the poem, This is a great lesson to use with both KS3 and KS4 students and can be easily differentiated as required.

Here is a fantastic scheme of work for summarizing, checking and reviewing the story of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Each lesson looks at each Chapter in detail, recounting key scenes, images, vocabulary and contains lots of speaking, writing and discussion tasks for students. This review could be either combined with other schemes, used at the end as a review, or used alongside the book as there is enough for material for at least (8-10) lessons. This scheme worked well with mixed ability KS3 learners in Years 8 and 9, and was also used as exam/assessment review practice for KS4 students. However, activities can be easily changed and differentiated as required.

Throughout the lesson, there are puzzles, quizzes and questions for students to answer. Students can either answer these questions verbally or can write them down on paper.
